Born in and raised in the city of Detroit, Michigan I am “jazzed” to see the migration of an exciting industry to our region. The Hollywood film industry has been lured to Michigan by the very “outside the box” creativity that makes our State great. Michiganders and Detroiters, in particular, have faced tremendous adversity and have had to overcome with resourceful ingenuity and vision. Michigan always seems to reward those who dig in and wrestle through the tough times. With financial seduction by our State Government and a few “players” with strong ties to Michigan, the film industry is starting to grow deep roots in Southeast Michigan and with each new film, TV show or media production, the city of Ferndale is becoming a favorite for industry hang-outs. The Board of Directors for F3 is very stoked (industry terminology) to hold a Film Festival in what is arguably the epicenter for the creative outlet that is Michigan.

As gas prices and employment have been big factors during the summer season for the last few years, the word “Stay-cation” has been a common phrase in Michigan. It is our intention to make F3 an affordable way to spend your holiday weekend in the comfort of home with festive options. Hope to see you in "Fashionable Ferndale" on Labor Day weekend.
